Happy 25th birthday World Wide Web!

March 15, 2010

It was a slow start at first and took over two years for the first 100 websites to go online. By 1995 the number of websites had grown to 18,000.
The majority growth for websites (99.9%) has occurred over the past 15 years. According to Information Technology & Innovation Foundation (ITIF) the internet has over 80 million dot-com names.
"The global diffusion of the commercial Internet has occurred with astounding speed," says the ITIF report "The Internet Economy 25 Years After .Com." "Every country on Earth, developed and developing alike, has adopted the Internet."
We see a great future for the web. Stay informed on the lasted web trends by signing up to one of our feeds.
I find it somewhat intriguing that the first website was launched on the ides of March.
